The Supreme Court issued a major campaign finance decision this week striking down some limits on federal campaign donations. The ruling comes four years after the court opened the door to unlimited political spending with its Citizens United decision. Supporters say striking down limits is a victory for free speech while critics say the ruling will provide a gateway to corruption. While the debate rages on, the court’s ruling is expected to dramatically change the political landscape ahead of the 2014 midterm and 2016 presidential elections.
