FISCAL CLIFF STALEMATE

President Obama and Republican House Speaker John Boehner have each proposed plans to reach a deal to avoid the fiscal cliff but remain divided on the specifics of tax increases and spending cuts. While both sides seem to agree that a plunge off the cliff would be disastrous, no one seems to be rushing to stop it.
