President Trump is expected to decertify the Iran nuclear deal on Friday despite assessments from several cabinet officials that Iran is complying with the 2015 agreement. The decision would send the deal to Congress which could re-impose economic sanctions and effectively kill the deal that limits the development of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Mr. Trump’s attempt to get out of the “worst deal” would have a far-reaching impact on how the United States is viewed on the world stage and comes the same week the president publicly challenged his own secretary of state.
