FRIDAY, MARCH 11 @ 9:00PM

Tonight on Washington Week | The long primary campaign: Republicans prepare for home state tests while Sanders upsets Clinton in Michigan.

Republican presidential hopefuls will debate in Miami on Thursday night just days before a number of pivotal primaries on March 15 that include some winner-take-all states — Florida, Missouri and Ohio.

Donald Trump continues to move closer to the Republican nomination despite fierce efforts by the GOP establishment to blunt his momentum. The billionaire businessman scored victories in Michigan, Mississippi and Hawaii on Tuesday. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz won Idaho and picked up the endorsement of former presidential rival Carly Fiorina. For Marco Rubio and John Kasich, time appears to be running out as both candidates face “must win” primaries in their home states of Florida and Ohio on March 15.

Kennedy informed the world that the Soviet Union was building secret missile bases in Cuba, just 90 miles off the shores of Florida. For the next 13 days, the world held its breath as the Soviet Union and the United States confronted each other about missiles stationed in Cuba. While politicians sought a resolution to the standoff, no one was aware of the events taking place inside the Soviet submarine B-59 in the waters off the coast of Florida.
