Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan have pledged to work together to unite the Republican Party that is divided over the real estate mogul’s ascension to presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Ryan said he was encouraged by his discussions with Trump about the party’s core principles, but the speaker came short of endorsing the New York businessman. Instead, Ryan reiterated that there was common ground when it came to the party’s number one priority — defeating likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in November.
