This documentary brings to life one of the most tumultuous clashes between government and citizens in modern U.S. history, as a longtime feud between Philadelphia police and radical urban group MOVE came to a tragic climax in 1985.

Formed in 1972 as a “back to nature” commune by the charismatic leader John Africa, MOVE members took the same surname in honor of their ancestral homeland, wore their hair in dreadlocks, shunned technology, and promoted a diet of raw food. Grappling for a way to describe the group, reporters sometimes referred to MOVE as a “cult” and later as “terrorists.”

The international outcry over the kidnapping of nearly 300 schoolgirls in Nigeria continues to grow. The government of Nigeria has received offers of assistance from the U.S., China and other countries as it tries to find the girls who were abducted from their classrooms last month by the militant Islamic group, Boko Haram. Hannah Allam of McClatchy News will have the latest on the terrorist group that has claimed responsibility and the efforts to rescue the girls before they are sold into presumably forced marriages or slavery.

Embark on a musical journey around the world with The Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma: Live from Tanglewood, filmed as the Silk Road Ensemble celebrated 15 years together with a summer concert at Tanglewood in Western Massachusetts. This eclectic group brings together distinguished musicians, composers, and performing artists from more than 20 countries around the world to celebrate, explore, and experiment with a wide variety of cultural approaches to musical performances.

“The Silk Road Ensemble helps us to answer the question ‘Who are we and how do we fit in the world?’” says Artistic Director and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. “We came from hometowns around the globe, and what we found is that while we didn’t necessarily have histories in common, we did share a language of music and of culture. Our sense of coming together across time and geography is apparent on stage.”

NATURE’s Shark Mountain takes viewers on a dive of a lifetime to reveal underwater creatures unlike anywhere else in the world.

Some 300 miles off Costa Rica is Cocos Island, a tiny Pacific outpost that was once a favorite haunt of pirates. Cocos, a designated World Heritage Site, lies directly in the path of powerful ocean currents that often collide with the island, churning the waters into an undersea storm.

These swirling currents carry rich nutrients to a reef teeming with brilliantly colored marine life. Residents include moray eels, hawksbill turtles, leatherbass, bigeye jacks, red-lipped batfish, yellow barberfish, hogfish, and sea urchins, to name only a few.
